Chapter 4 of Elementary Algebra addresses various types of polynomials. The properties of exponents are discussed, as well as the addition and subtraction of polynomials, multiplication and division of polynomials, polynomials in several variables, and negative exponents. The emphasis remains on problem solving using algebraic concepts. The chapter concludes with an explanation of problem solving using scientific notation.
